Thank you as always for prayer recommendations. They’re my favorite part of neighbor notes!

This news has been devastating and so confusing. My fiancé has been here in the U.S. on a student visa. We are getting married in 2 months and then planned on applying for his adjustment of status to a green card. He’s from Brazil - a country apart of the 75-country ban. We were stunned and panicked when we first heard the news and have no idea what to do now. I’m hoping we can speak with a lawyer soon for advice and clarification.

Abby, I've been thinking about you and your fiancé since I read this. I'm so sorry that this has to be hanging over what should be a purely joyful season. I hope you're able to connect with a lawyer who can guide your next moves. It seems like the administration is already trying to walk some of this back? I hope so!

I'll be praying for clarity in the days ahead, for a good lawyer, and for a magical wedding. 🤍

Thank you so much for your kind words💛 through a friend of a friend we were blessed to be able to schedule a free consultation with a lawyer that will happen at the end of this month. I hope we’ll get the great guidance we need, but for now it seems like there’s not too much to worry about! The administration walked back on their memorandum and said they’re just reminding immigration officers that adjustment of status applications should be difficult to approve and that this is up to the judgment of the officers. And praise God, because so far there’s been no indication of a blanket slowdown affecting adjustment applications.

The rule change is outrageous.

Following up on your "homework assignment" -- :-)

- Sen John Fetterman hasn't posted on Facebook since March. His website makes no mention of immigration.

- Sen Dave McCormick (carpetbagger) has the usual rants against "illegals" on his website.

- Rep Chris Deluzio doesn't mention immigration specifically but has a front-page article on his website about his visit to Moshannon (for-profit prison). He and Rep Summer Lee went together and report on disgusting conditions, similar to what we're hearing about in Newark NJ.

And blessings to Abby & family (below) - Lord I pray this family will be able to marry and stay here and bless this country with their talents and their love for many years, AMEN.
